The Best of Overland Expo East 2022

Overland Expo is the premier overland & adventure travel event in the world, and we just returned from the latest edition of Overland Expo East in Arrington, Virginia. It was our third time at the massive event, and this time our primary focus was on creating video content with Pickup Truck +SUV Talk focused on trucks and SUVs being exhibited at the show by OEMs. However, we couldn’t help but notice the variety of amazing pickup trucks in exhibitor booths.

The Most Badass Pickup Trucks at Overland Expo East 2022

Which of these trucks would you pick? In this video, we take a quick look at the 50 most badass pickup truck builds at Overland Expo East. This video includes all brands and all sizes of trucks and really shows the variety of vehicles and products on display at Overland Expo. Just pause the video is you want to slow it down and take a look at something closer.

One particular truck in that video caught our eye as deserving extra attention…

Craziest or Coolest Truck You’ve Ever Seen?! Redneck Rolls Mobile Man Cave

Behold the most amazing custom-modified truck we’ve ever seen. It’s named the Redneck Rolls Mobile Man Cave, and it was created by Steve Bacque, the Crazy Cranford Cowboy. Watch the video to see all of the modifications that Steve has made to this 2002 Ford F-150 King Ranch, and what made him start this project in the first place. Trust us, the longer you watch, the more incredible his story gets. We could follow this amazing gentleman around with a camera for an entire month and not grow tired of his stories!

That wasn’t the only oddity on display, as nearby we found this new vehicle making its world debut…

What the Hell is That Thing?! Potential Motors Adventure 1 World Debut

Introducing the Potential Adventure 1, which just made its World Debut at Overland Expo East 2022. It’s part UTV, part EV, part Camper Van, and looks a bit like a Kei Van. The Adventure 1 apparently has been designed by Potential Motors to be small enough to fit down any trail, including those that are normally limited to Side by Sides, but then also to be comfortable enough to sleep in. Check out this bespoke new off-road electric van thing from Canada, the Potential Motors Adventure 1.

On the more traditional end of the spectrum, we spotted a couple of cool Broncos that caught our eye…

Awesome! Pair of Sweet Ford Broncos at Overland Expo East 2022!

Bronco Nation was quite prevalent at Overland Expo East 2022, and we found two Broncos in particular that caught our interest in the Ford Bronco booth. Meet Chase Gentry, a Bronco Ambassador who travels the country Overlanding and off-roading in a Bronco with his wife, while sharing the journey on YouTube and Instagram. Chase gave us a quick tour of his highly customized Bronco and the all-new Heritage Edition Bronco that you can order directly from Ford.

For this year’s event, we actually drove a 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrack from the Ford press fleet and recorded a little road trip video to share with you…

Join him for this road trip from Murrells Inlet, SC to Arrington, VA, and learn about some Bronco features along the way. Phil also shares his thoughts on how comfortable the Bronco is for a Big & Tall guy, what his favorite road trip snack is, and some gas mileage numbers from the road. Stick around to the end to see an extra special Ford Truck that Phil spotted on the route.
