Sunday River Resort – Maine

Sunday River Resort is one of Maine’s largest and most visited ski resorts. The resort features 135 trails across eight interconnected mountain peaks, and is serviced by a network of 15 lifts. We had the chance to visit Sunday River for Red Bull Frozen Rush and stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel.

The Grand Summit offers a slopeside location with full service hotel amenities. While the rooms are relatively dated, most guests spend their time enjoying the outdoors. The Grand Summit also includes a fun restaurant named Camp.

This stylish new restaurant showcases the best of Maine comfort food done right and is inspired by the proud Maine tradition of camping. Camps serves a daily breakfast buffet, and some unique offerings for lunch and dinner.

Sunday River is clearly known best for its skiing though, and with 2,340 feet of vertical drop across 870 acres of developed trails and glades, there is plenty to explore. Sunday River also includes six terrain parks for every level from beginner to advanced. The resort’s largest intermediate / advanced playground features a jump line, rail park, and a 600-foot superpipe – the longest in the East.
